Trout fishing at Pawleys is best on WInyah Bay in Georgetown, and boy, did we get into them the other day! It was just after the annual Governors Cup Billfish Tournament, when I took a client and his son out for a 3/4 day of fishing on their boat, a 21′ bay boat. Late in the morning after playing catch and release with some over-sized redfish (some folks call them Spottails), we stopped at (redacted), near a grassy bank that I know of which produces a good bite on certain occasions, when the weather and tide come together just right. Within 30 minutes we had 3 very fine and rather large speckled trout, a beautiful size to take back to the fish cleaning station – which we did. Trout, trout, trout – yum, yum, yum!
